Ever wonder why we are pulled towards the ground? Or who was Einstein and why is he so famous? What is energy? Friction? All those questions and more can be answered reading this book! Join Toe Tentacle in a lesson on the amazing world of physics while he plummets down a cliff. Fun drawings with basic facts about physics, written with the help of my mentor, Matthew Cahill-Rowley of Stanford's Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), make this a great read for curious kids ages 9-90.

A fun, quirky look at the world of physics. Encouraging to middle schoolers as it is written by an 8th grader, I am using it for a fun, light overview of the field of physics in my class. They meet Isaac Newton and Albert Einstein and their major contributions. They can even do some basic force calculations as they follow a falling alien through the comic book. The author was creative even in his funny notes on the copyright laws and has even funnier endorsements of his book from such famous people as Isaac Newton himself! (Haha) The only drawback are some spelling and punctuation errors, but there aren't many - this can be an extra challenge for your middle schoolers to "Hunt-and-Find" the errors. The science is solid as he was mentored by Matthew Cahill-Rowley from the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. Altogether a fun resource for middle schoolers.Product details

Not only did my kids really enjoy this book, but it taught me about physics in a fun, interesting, clever manner. We really enjoyed reading it as a family. Very impressed with this 8th grade author. We enjoyed his writing and his drawings.....he is an author to watch!
My husband mentored Jacque as he wrote this droll gem--he basically served as a physics editor/consultant while Jacque did everything himself. When I first came across some of the proofs lying on the coffee table, I was delighted by them and immediately asked to see more. The alien character is engaging and expressive, and the physics is explained in an intuitive way. I love the light touches of wicked humor, but I have to say my absolute favorite parts are the illustrations where the alien is wearing period costumes--Newton, Einstein, et cetera.
This is a kid to watch for sure.
I really enjoyed reading something this book because it helped me learn and have fun at the same time, which rarely ever happens.
This book taught me a lot and the pictures really helped me to understand what physics is--especially the three laws of motion. The words make it easy to understand. I hope the author will write more books like this one such as one on food chains. This is the first review I've ever written.
Great book for children just being introduced to physics. A very good way to avoid jitters associated with a completely new subject for young junior-high students. Done with humor and easy to understand concepts.
I just wished it kept on going!
Great for kids, aged 9 to 102. The author should write now one on chemistry and perhaps biology with his same cute characters. Congrats on a well done book
